Drama is offered as an elective in Years 8-12 at Belmont HS and provides opportunities for students to confidently analyse and develop their interpersonal and communication skills with others, through a range of conventional drama processes centred around role play and collaborative playbuilding.

Drama is growing in popularity in our school after a number of successful performances including:
Grand Finalists for MINDPLAY
1st in monologue, 1st in Duologue, 1st in Improv, 2nd in short play & 3 Highly Commended's at 2012 Muswellbrook Eisteddfod
Starstruck- 16 performers showcased in 2 Drama segments including students in lead roles and as compere.

Belmont High has a long tradition of training students to successfully undertake all aspects of creating a live performance for audiences big and small, both indoor and out. Up until now, their time has been voluntary.
We will be offering Cert 1, 2 & 3 in Entertainment Industry Live Production, Theatre and Events as a VET Tafe course delivered to our students on-site. Credit goes towards the HSC and Belmont High Drama have access to the use of our Performance Space, recently equipped with state of the art light, sound and projection equipment, to provide the perfect platform for our students to develop and hone their production skills.
We are also able to offer recommendations for local industry contacts offering internships and apprenticeships including (where applicable) government assistance to study.
