Vision Statement - English for All

At Kincumber High School the English Faculty believes that every student can achieve success.  So, we aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable to experiment and take “risks” with their learning.

We have a strong focus on the “basics,” including punctuation, spelling, text-types and preparation for examinations, however we strive to build on this platform so that every student develops skills in critical and imaginative thinking.

Another central component of our underpinning rationale is that the study of literature, (including Shakespeare and film; for all years), is vital in developing students’ abilities to evaluate, assess and challenge ideas and attitudes.
