  Muswellbrook High School is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school who welcomes all students from the Muswellbrook and Denman communities and surrounding areas. The school offers the widest curriculum choice in the Upper Hunter and has a strong history of HSC success. Students are able to access to the latest technology and industry standard facilities.

Student learning is further enhanced through access to courses at Muswellbrook and Scone TAFE campuses, School Based Traineeships and Distance Education. The Opportunity Class and Gifted and Talented programs also provide students with the platform to accelerate and extend their learning opportunities.



Muswellbrook High School has experienced significant success in team sports such as Basketball, Touch, Rugby League, Volleyball and Hockey with three teams qualifying in the top 16 teams in State competition each year over the last three years. The school prides itself on its outstanding Creative and Performing Arts programs which enable students the opportunity to excel in Band, Choir, Drama and Musical and Showcase productions. The school also has an exceptional agricultural program and boasts an off-site farm.


Aboriginal students are encouraged to excel through their involvement in the Graham ‘Polly’ Farmer Foundation, 100% Knights and Norta Norta programs.


The Muswellbrook High School teachers are a talented and committed group, boasting a positive mix of youth and experience. They regularly make considerable personal time available to tutor, train and mentor students, supporting them across a wide range of both curricular and extracurricular areas.
